(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Yusuf al-Qaradawi said in a statement that Turks need to prop the government and refrain from damaging public property.
The cleric who has stirred controversies for his support of militants fighting the government in Syria said such protests stem from foreign plots.
He said the anti-government protests in Turkey come over Ankara’s position on the issues in Islamic countries.
Qaradawi is notorious for his divisive comments that have helped spur militancy in Syria.
The Qatar-based cleric has urged ‘every Sunni capable of fighting’ to take up arms and engage in the conflict in Syria.
The radical cleric has called Syria’s alawites Takfiris who are even “more infidels than Jews and Christians.”
He also recently attacked Iran and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, claiming that they seek to exterminate Sunnis.
His comments come as the Turkish police have once again attacked a group of demonstrators in the western city of Istanbul.
